A great escape to the sun for a chill and a taste of Original Spain
The Calacasa house has been in the family for nearly 18 years until Jonne & Heike took it over. But since they are not fulltime retirees they love others to enjoy the region and house as well.

It's great to chill and tan at the pool but you got to go out and absorb all the small historic villages, food and wine. It's super easy to participate in the cultural traditions and festivities. The property includes all the little details to make you believe you are living the Spanish lifestyle.

Can anyone rent the house?
No, no, lo siento. We use a friends of friends limit. That means that if you don't know us or any of our fantastic friends ....sorry. It's nothing personal. We just like to keep it amongst friends.
Isn't it very far way?
Distance is relative. From Utrecht it 2.000 km and we normally drive it one day (18hrs). If you don't suffer from flight shame, you can take the plane to Alicante and rent a car (1.5 hr drive). Better for everyone is to drive or to take the train to Madrid or Valencia and rent a car there. It's so much better for the planet and a super good way to land into the Spanish mode.
What does it cost?
It depends. We like the pricing to be reasonable. We don't want to get rich off it. With the rent, we just like to cover the costs for keeping the garden nice and tidy, the pool bubbly fresh and the house running and clean like a machine. We can't do this without the support of Abdellah and Lisa.
Can the compensation be paid in cash?
Yes, we love cash, bitcoins, creditcards, bank transfers, goldbars, tikkies. Whatever is your financial tickle. We just don't do house swapping, hugs or tit for tat. Unless you're a soon to be very famous artist of the year, you have VIP backstage tickets for art fairs or metal shows. Only if you're an artist we can make an exception, feel free to request our artist in residence format.
Is it not very very hot?
Yes, it can be. But especially the month of April, May, June and September, October are amazing. With temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees and nice daily breeze. July is hot (30-40) but it's a different kind of experience of heat. It's dry heat which is very bearable. August is not to be advised for untrained souls. We even close up the house in August because we don't see the need of keeping ACs running for no other need than cooling down sweaty mammals. Unless you want to do climate change readiness assessments. We have a special program for that.
If I can not rent it, can I buy the place?
